Elizabeth Keat graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and her elementary teaching certificate.  She began her teaching career in New York City. She was inspired by the curriculum and practices of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project and their work in her school and very own classroom.  This led her to pursue her graduate studies in the Literacy Specialist Program at Teachers College, Columbia University. After nine years of classroom teaching experience, Elizabeth began her work as a literacy specialist and staff developer.  She has worked alongside administrators and teachers for the past eight years, supporting the implementation of meaningful literacy practices in K-8 classrooms. She founded Keat Literacy in 2016, beginning her work as an educational consultant. Elizabeth is passionate about creating generations of lifelong readers and writers.
